Radio Notes: WYEP changes evening schedule
Saturday, September 04, 2010

Adult alternative WYEP-FM (91.3) is revamping its evening lineup:

Starting Monday, "The Block Party" will air from 8 p.m. to midnight. This reinvention of the WYEP Evening Mix will feature newer music, and the scope will include indie rock, hip-hop and soul, along with classics from the past 20 years. Every hour, a local artist will be featured.

On Tuesday, WYEP will start carrying "The Moth Radio Hour," the nonfiction storytelling series from New York. The one-hour syndicated program starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and runs for 10 weeks.

Call in for public transit

Port Authority CEO Steve Bland will take calls from KDKA-AM (1020) listeners on Tuesday at 7 p.m., in what the station is billing as an "on-air public hearing." Mr. Bland will answer questions about the proposed rate hikes and route cuts. KDKA host Robert Mangino will moderate the discussion.
